Scope's alert system keeps you informed of important changes to your AI visibility without requiring you to log in daily. You can configure alerts for score changes, competitor movements, and new AI monitoring results.
Types of Alerts
AI Visibility Score Alerts
Get notified when your overall AI Visibility Score changes significantly:
- Score Drop Alert: Notifies you when your score drops by more than a threshold you set (default: 5 points)
- Score Improvement Alert: Notifies you when your score improves by a meaningful amount
- Milestone Alerts: Notified when you cross score thresholds (e.g., reaching 50, 60, 70)
Competitor Alerts
Stay informed about competitive movements:
- Competitor Score Change: Alert when a competitor's AI Visibility Score increases or decreases significantly
- Competitor Overtake Alert: Immediate notification when a competitor's score passes yours
- New Competitor Recommendation: Alert when a competitor starts appearing in prompts where they previously weren't
Platform-Specific Alerts
Monitor what's happening on individual AI platforms:
- Platform Drop: Alert when your score on one specific platform (e.g., Perplexity) drops significantly
- Emerging Prompt: Alert when you start appearing in a new prompt category
Setting Up Alerts
- Navigate to Settings → Notifications in your Scope dashboard
- Choose which alert types to enable
- Set thresholds (e.g., "alert me if score drops more than 5 points")
- Select delivery method:
- Email: Sent to your account email or any team member's email
- In-app: Shows in the Scope notification center
- Choose frequency: Immediate, Daily Digest, or Weekly Summary
Weekly Digest
The Weekly Digest is sent every Monday morning and includes:
- Your AI Visibility Score change from the previous week
- Competitor score comparison
- Top 3 optimization opportunities
- Any notable platform-specific changes
- Summary of prompts you appear in most and least
Recommended for: Most users who want a regular pulse without real-time notifications.
Daily Summary
The Daily Summary is available on Growth plans and includes:
- Score change from the previous day
- Any new competitor movements
- New scan results for recently-tested prompts
Recommended for: Agencies managing clients in competitive markets, or businesses running active optimization campaigns who need rapid feedback.
Managing Notification Preferences for Teams
Admins can configure separate notification preferences for each team member:
- Go to Settings → Team
- Click on a team member
- Set their notification preferences (which alerts they receive)
Useful for agencies: You can configure different team members to receive different alerts (e.g., one person receives all competitor alerts, another receives all client score changes).
Email Notification Format
All email alerts include:
- Clear subject line with the specific change (e.g., "Score drop alert: Austin Family Dental -8 points")
- One-paragraph summary of what changed
- Direct link to the relevant section in your Scope dashboard
- Quick action recommendation
Reducing Notification Fatigue
If you find yourself receiving too many notifications:
- Increase your thresholds (e.g., only alert on drops of 10+ points instead of 5+)
- Switch from immediate alerts to daily digest
- Disable low-priority alerts (milestone, minor improvement)
- Keep only the highest-value alerts: Score Drop, Competitor Overtake, and Weekly Digest
Q: Can I get alerts via Slack or other tools? A: Slack integration is on our roadmap. Currently, alerts are delivered by email or in-app notification. For immediate Slack delivery, you can forward alert emails to a Slack email channel as a workaround.
Q: Will I get an alert every time Scope runs a scan? A: No — Scope only sends alerts when something notable changes. Running your regular daily or weekly scan does not trigger a notification unless a configured threshold is crossed.
