This is the first post in a weekly cadence: take a real vertical, ask the engines Scope already runs on Starter, and write down what they said. No invented “AI search volume.” No waitlist.
The point is not to clone Searchable’s feed. It is to show local operators the same loop Scope sells: measure the prompt, see who gets cited, then prove whether any of that turns into visits after Google is connected.
What we asked this week
Three prompts, four engines (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity):
- “Best family dentist in Austin who takes new patients”
- “Who should I book for highlights near downtown Nashville”
- “Reliable HVAC repair that can come tomorrow in Phoenix”
Those are category + local prompts — the ones that decide whether a shop shows up or a directory does.
What the engines did
They did not invent a brand-new demand score. They reused the same citation habits we already see in Scope scans:
- Dentists: Healthgrades, Google Business Profile, and insurer directories beat a pretty homepage.
- Salons: StyleSeat / Booksy-style booking pages and recent reviews outrank a generic “about us.”
- HVAC: Angi / Thumbtack / BBB-style lists plus a page that answers “can you come tomorrow” in the first paragraph.
If your site is a brochure, you lose to a directory. That is the citation brief, not a 2,000-word blog post.
What we will not claim
We will not post a traffic chart until a Growth account has connected GA4/Search Console and real AI-referral rows exist. Attribution is a product feature, not a press sentence.
Claude and Gemini stay included on Starter. There is no per-engine add-on.
How to reuse this
If you run a local shop: paste your URL into the free AI visibility checker, pick the three questions customers actually ask, and see who gets named instead of you.
If you are comparing AEO tools: Scope vs Searchable is the honest page — price, Claude-on-Starter, and the traffic loop only after Google is linked.
