Here’s exactly what a connected agent can and cannot do with your Scope account — no fine print.
Restricted keys by default
A new Scope API key starts with read access plus permission to run checks. Write access — adding businesses, completing recommendations — is a separate permission you turn on explicitly.
Looking is always free
Reading your visibility report, prompt results, citations, competitors, and recommendations never spends a check. Only running or testing a prompt does.
Costs are echoed before they happen
Any tool that spends checks reports the cost and your remaining balance in its response — your agent is expected to tell you before it spends, not after.
Nothing publishes without you
Scope agents draft fixes — schema, FAQ content — as text. There is no publish tool. Nothing is ever written to your website or CMS by an agent.
Revoke anytime
Disconnect a connected agent or delete an API key from Scope settings at any moment. Access ends immediately — no waiting period.
Scoped to your account
Every call is scoped to the businesses on your authenticated account. An agent can't see or act on data outside what your account and key permissions allow.
Auto-upgrade decisions always go to you
An agent never silently approves a plan change. If an action would trigger an auto-upgrade, Scope returns the prior tier, the new tier, and any billing impact — your agent relays that to you and waits for your explicit approval before continuing.
